Cadet Spatial Information Officer

The Department of Mines and Energy is providing an opportunity for cadets to obtain 100% reimbursement of HELP fees (Higher Education Loan Programme, formerly HECS) and study leave, plus a paid career in the area of Spatial Information.

This unique opportunity is targeting tertiary students currently undertaking studies to obtain a degree in Geographic Sciences, Spatial Science Technology (GIS), Environmental Management or similar area of study.

If successful, your cadetship would involve full time employment as a Cadet Spatial Information Officer undertaking duties that focus on the capture and enhancement of geological spatial information using the latest geographic information systems and databases. 

  • Plus continued employment on the successful completion of your degree.

Other incentives include full payment of student services fees, examination fees, course fees, library photocopying and compulsory residential school/field trips. 

  • Plus paid study leave and examination leave as approved.
